peaceful place is Namal Anga Rajamaha Wiharaya

                                                                    

North Western Province,Namal Anga Rajamaha Viharaya in Ambathpola village in the Ibbagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division in the Kurunegala District is a place of worship for Buddhists all over Sri Lanka.  This is another wonderful ancient temple among the Rajamaha Viharas in Sri Lanka. 

As we traveled there we learned that it was full of amazing beauty as well as wonderful historical storytelling.  During the period 161-137 BC

King Dutugemunu had brought a Buddha statue to the Silver Temple and had come to Ambanpola village to spend the night as it was getting dark.  The place where he stayed is now known as Namal Anga Rajamaha Viharaya.  It is believed that this temple was named as Namal Anga Rajamaha Viharaya because of the fragrance of the developed Namal and the arrangement of the temples in the shape of Namal.⛩️⛩️⛩️⛩️.....

      Decorated with sculptures and paintings, this statue house is able to reveal a number of events of the Buddha's character.  It depicts the Satsathiya as well as many Jataka stories.

Another amazing creation of this temple which is worshiped by the Buddhist devotees can be seen.  As Buddhists, most of us accept merit and demerit.  Hell has built a house to understand the nature of hell while living, presenting well how to reward those sins.  Devotees who visit this temple on the day of Poya will be able to see this hell house.I like the most this temple .......😀
