                     Sigiriya, another proud hill station in Sinhala history, is one of the eighth wonders of the world of Sinhala art, architecture and architecture. According to our genealogy, the story of Sigiriya revolves around King Kasyapa I, the founder of Sigiriya, the first to face a tragic end. This great art gallery is located about 9 miles north of Dambulla on the Colombo-Trincomalee road. Sigiriya is located as a remnant of the Inamaluwa Korale, close to the foothills of the Malay Rata in the southern boundary of the Northern Plains in the Matale District  This rock rises about 600 feet above the plain. The size of the Sigiriya tea top is 3 acres which is 3 km long and 1 km wide. This magnificent architectural complex of stone and brick was built in the late 5th century AD. The majestic majesty of this maze, with its massive walls, moats, defensive chambers, natural stone arches, flower gardens, and the Great Wall, also known as the Mirror Wall because of its delicate smoothness, reflects what a mighty giant it is.

The name Sinhagiriya or Sigiriya is derived from the fact that it is made in the style of a Sinharaja and is worshiped in great splendor at the foot of the great sin that protrudes from the north, kissing the horizon in a dark color. In 1898, HCP Bell stated that although Sinharaja felt a sense of dread that stretched for miles, the sight of the lion fascinated even the earliest modern-day archaeologists who visited there. It is clear from this song written on the wall of mirrors that even the remnants of the lion's arms are enough to make one feel a sense of grandeur and power.
